Accessible, Inclusive & Beautiful Interior Design in Essex & Across the UK

Helping You Create a Home That Works for You
Welcome to Joanne Jeyes Interiors.
I’m Jo, an experienced interior designer based in Essex. I specialise in accessible, inclusive, and dementia-friendly home design that supports real lives.
Whether you’ve experienced a life-changing accident, live with a disability, or care for someone with additional needs, I can help you create a home that feels safe, supportive, and personal.
My passion lies in designing adaptive and future-proof homes, but I also work on a wide range of residential projects. Every design has the same goal: to tell the story of your home in a way that is welcoming, functional, and uniquely yours.
I believe that good design should work for all the senses. From lighting and sound to colour and texture, every detail can shape how comfortable and calm a space feels.
For families who are neurodivergent or living with dementia, I create supportive, sensory-friendly interiors that reduce stress and bring everyday joy.
By listening to your story, I design homes that are not only practical and inclusive but also full of personality, beauty, and lasting value.

Accessible & Adaptive Home Design
I help people across Essex and beyond adapt their homes without losing style or comfort. From wheelchair-accessible layouts to sensory-friendly spaces, I design interiors that are practical, beautiful, and inclusive.
Every project is tailored to your lifestyle, with future-proof solutions that support independence, wellbeing, and a true sense of home.

Collaborating with Occupational Therapists & Care Teams
I work alongside occupational therapists, healthcare professionals, and trusted contractors to make sure every adaptation is safe, practical, and thoughtfully designed. Their clinical knowledge, combined with my design expertise, ensures your home works beautifully for daily life while still feeling personal and comfortable.
Dementia-Friendly Design That Feels Like Home
If you’re caring for someone living with dementia, I can help you make thoughtful design changes that improve safety, comfort, and confidence. From clearer layouts to calming colour choices, these small but effective adaptations create a home that feels supportive, familiar, and truly personal. I have also written a ‘Dementia Friendly Home’ guide you can download for FREE.
